My husband and I have a tiny San Juan 21 with plans to soon replace it with a Cape Dory or Britstol. I do not know that we would travel as much as you have done, maybe intra-coastal until we sail much better. But your videos have been the best and most enjoyable ones out there. It was always fantastically reliable for me, and easy to start by hand when the batteries failed. Have you read 'sailling out of silence' by Peter Hancock? He sailed a CO26 round the world, and spent much of his time deciding what to throw out next. When his engine failed he did exactly what you suggested and resorted to a sculling oar.
