Nick,

Thanks for the kind write-up! It was a pleasure to help you out and great to meet you. I always have time for unassuming people who actually go and do the things that the rest of us dream about. Daily life has a way of getting in the way of adventure if you don't seize the opportunities when you can. People have helped me in the past .. so pass it on when you can!
Hope you can get August going again and find a replacement #1 Genoa. A pole and Spinnaker/Cruising Chute would be good too if anyone out there has one they could donate!!
Cheers and safe passage,

Tony

Hi, Nick!

What a wonderful journey! I will be following your progress...
I used to live in NYC, and have done a few roundings of the Battery.... I used to sail Pearson Ariel, similar size boat to yours... Now I live Portland, Maine, on Nordica 30 double ender...
If you plan on visiting Casco Bay at some point, I would like to say hello in person.
Happy sailing,

Arunas

Different in that they describe you as weather-beaten and tired looking etc, which as far a I remember you have never detailed about yourself-righty so. :) and I'm not sure it was just interesting to read what someone else saw of you and your trip, I dunno really! ha! That is a bad explanation... oh well I'll just shut up. Hope America is still great.

Great story Nick. I have been watching your progress from the other side of the Atlantic with admiration and envy. As a "yachty" in Tasmania I share your passion for the water but not your courage. Well done and great writing by the way. I always look forward eagerly to each blog posting. I can see your adventures in my minds eye as I read, sense the wind and just admire. Too old for such a great adventure and too much of a nervous sailor to take it on myself anyway. Keep up the good work.

Well interesting write up they gave you. Kinda shows a different perspective of you, your boat and the trip. All good though.
